Even though this apartment isn’t located in an old factory area, we wanted to integrate the industrial style inside.

Materials: parquet board, concrete, stone, metal.

The owner, a young and creative man, a huge fan of such interior, asked us to combine an old-school charm with modern clarity. We decided to leave the most authentic elements and just clean and color them. Also, we were faced with the task of correctly distributing the space, focus on making the apartment as open as possible, and building a second floor: a bedroom on a mezzanine.

When picturing this design, we were thinking not only about wood, stone, metal but about making this place cozy. We started with a crumpled leather sofa, warm linear lighting, and a projector with a retractable screen. Then, we gathered lots of art-objects all over the place to maintain the style: 20th-century radio, author's decor items such as monkeys, bronze cactuses and paintings.

But the greatest news for us was that we could install a fireplace in this apartment because it was located on the last floor. Let’s go upstairs using the metal staircase supported by rods that are attached on top. In addition to the sleeping area itself, we made a workplace, a wardrobe area, and open storage areas on the second floor. But the main feature of the mezzanine is the layout: the bedroom windows don’t overlook the street, but the living room on the first floor.
